Privacy policy.
Last updated 9 August 2026.
This policy explains how Ascension Labs Ltd (“we”) handles personal data collected through this website and when you contact us directly. We are the data controller for that information.
Our products have their own privacy policies, because they process far more than this website does. If you are a myscran customer or a restaurant selling through myscran, the policy that applies to you is at myscran.io/privacy.
This website collects nothing
asclabs.io is a static site. It has no contact forms, sets no cookies, runs no analytics and does not track visitors. Fonts and the map image are served from our own domain rather than a third party, so loading this page does not report your visit to anyone else.
Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes standard server logs including IP addresses in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use those logs to build any profile of you.
What we collect when you contact us
If you email us, we hold whatever you send: your name, email address, and anything else in the message, such as a phone number or business name. That is the only personal data we actively collect through this site.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To reply to you and take the conversation forward — legitimate interests, and performance of a contract once we are working together.
- To meet accounting, tax and company-law obligations — legal obligation.
- To send you something you asked to receive — consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
Who we share it with
Only the providers that let us operate, under contract and only so far as each needs it: Vercel for website hosting and Google Workspace for our email. We will also disclose data where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.
Some of these process data outside the UK. Where they do, transfers are covered by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent safeguards.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead anywhere are deleted within 24 months. Where an enquiry becomes a business relationship, the records that tax and company law require us to hold are kept for six years after the end of the relevant financial year, and the rest is deleted.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, delete it where we have no obligation to keep it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to another provider.
Email hello@asclabs.io and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK supervisory authority.
Changes
If we change how we use personal data we will update this page and change the date at the top.
